Ever ask yourself, “I wonder if can I buy a home?” or “Should I continue renting or buy a home?” There is quite a bit information and misinformation in purchasing real estate. How can one filter through all the jargon and not be deterred by the process? There are good and bad experiences occurring all the time. While some homeowners are empowered in their purchase, there are others who have had nightmarish experiences unfortunately. As you begin your journey in making the biggest purchases of your life, becoming educated in the home buying process, understanding your options, and setting your expectations will determine whether your experience will be positive or negative. The goal of our class is to provide the basics of the home buying process in order to prepare you for when the time is right to make home ownership a reality. The topics will include, but are not limited to: • What exactly is the process of home buying? • What will be my expenses in buying a home? • Am I even able to buy a home? How do I get approved for a loan? • What are differences between the many loan programs available to first time buyers? • What is down payment assistance? • Why even buy a home? • Home ownership and the affects in the community. • Renting vs Buying. • When is a good time to buy? Our class is accepting barter items that will be donated to the local Cultural Arts Center, Sol Collective specifically to their Pop Up Kids Art Lab.
