Church Land Programme Boardroom, 340 Burger Street
The lecture seeks to cover how the power of the organised masses is vested in ordinary people to effect change. This power could be in the form of an ‘’x’’ for individuals to ascend the office, or putting people above the office. This power has led to the fall of the eThekwini Metro Empire and opens new possibilities of engagement with popular struggles like Abahlali baseMjondolo. Please bring pen and paper, and, if you can, any visuals showing people's power to consider in the class. This class will be offered in English and isiZulu as needed.
