The Mzala Nxumalo Centre opened last year in July with the official launch of the Centre on 4 December 2015. We have bee hosting a series of seminars that focus on contemporary issues in South Africa as well as the work of Mzala Nxumalo. As part of our vision and mission we would like to introduce a wider audience to his work and activism. The seminar will give a brief history of Mzala, his work and contribution to the liberation struggle. It will also draw some lessons from his work and discuss practical application for activism in communities. notepads and pens will be provided. This class will be offered in English and isiZulu as needed.

Secondhand books for our library – research, political, biography and any other academic works

About the teacher, Percy Ngonyama

Percy Ngonyama is current doing his Phd at UKZN. He has been commissioned by the Mzala Centre to do a biography on Mzala Nxumalo. Percy has had a long history being involved in community grassroots activism. He brings both the intellectual but also the practical of activist politics and is passionate about ‘education for change’.
