The class will cover the basic of how to knit socks, using an extremely good method for turning the heel (often a difficulty in sock-knitting!). Students will be provided with a detailed pattern, and the wool they will need. During the class, you will knit a pair of socks for a baby. Please bring a circular needle, at least 60cms long, 2.25mm (you should be able to find these at any decent haberdasher - if you have difficulties, please contact us.
Bring one of the following:
bring chocolate or some other treat to share with the class!
bring sock yarn to share with others
donate the socks you knit in the class to Thandanani
new school socks for donation
About the teacher, Kate Hoole
I'm a journalist by profession and a knitter for pleasure. I like knitting socks, lace, cardigans and hats, and I firmly believe that knitting a facecloth is a worthwhile enterprise: it's fun to do, and the facecloth is nice to use.Join
