Learn the technique of wet felt-making using colourful and natural wool fibres. Felting is a technique that has been used by humans for practical and decorative use for thousands of years. In this session, you can learn the basic technique of how to create a piece of felted wool, which can be the basis for your own artwork in the future or simply to try out this historic craft. Bring a plastic bag or tupperware box to take away your piece of felt as it will need drying at home. We will be using soap so if you have sensitive skin please bring your own plastic gloves.
Bring one of the following:
Art, textile, craft books
Buttons, beads, zips, ribbons, etc
Herbal teas (not green tea)
Interesting patterned and colourful papers
Natural soaps, handcreams, etc
Off-cuts of natural fabric - linen, cotton, silk...
