Do Re Mi Singing School

1:00p.m. to 4:00p.m.
The Common Room at St Laurence's Church
St Benedict's Street
Norwich GB

Learn to sing in glorious 4-part harmony - no experience needed, just a willingness to learn! We will take a brief look at the Tonic Sol-fa system devised by Sarah Glover of Norwich, relating it to the Aikin 7-shape note system (used in the USA) which we will spend more time on. Sounds complicated, but is simple - and fun! Music sung will mostly be folk hymns from William Walker's Christian Harmony, but will include local tunes (including the hymn that appears on Sarah Glover's memorial plaque in the church). Sarah Glover's father was Rector of St Laurence's Church which will make this singing class even more fascinating.

Bring one of the following:
Kitchen whisk
Local honey
Packet of pencils
Throat sweets
