In the first hour of this class, you will upcycle an old picture frame into a lap loom. In the following two hours, you will begin your weaving project! Materials to bring for the loom: - a wooden picture frame about the size of 13inx16in (frame only) - a hammer Materials to bring for the weaving: - 3-4 skeins of yarn of varying thicknesses and of the desired color scheme - scissors Optional: - a drill with small drill bits (1/16, 5/64, 3/32 etc) could make things go faster - ruler - a nice stick/rod/driftwood for the top (if you get to finish).

Bring one of the following:
A bag of mealworms for the chickens
A bucket of spent grain from your local brewer (for the chickens)
Dog treats (for two big dogs)
Homegrown produce

About the teacher, Gail

I am a math professor whose hobby is collecting hobbies. I like crafting, gardening, camping, being outdoors, cooking, teaching, learning, and raising animals. I also am into photography, ceramics (hand-building), and compost! My newest hobby is seed-collecting. I hope to learn how to make seed bombs one day!
