LA River Bike Tour

1:30p.m. to 2:30p.m.
LA River Bike Path
2820 Newell St
Los Angeles US

This class will be a bike tour down the LA River Bike Path. I will explain the history of the LA River also knowledge of wildlife and plants. There will be bird and plant identification. I will explain organizations that help maintain and look to preserve the LA River As much as it will be educational there will also be elements of thrills like the legendary River Monster and other unnatural creatures along the way. Don't worry about bringing protection. I will make an offering to the river gods to keep us safe. But just a heads up there could be water bears, 200 pound geese and demi gods who reside in the water. This will be a lot like the Universal Studios Tour. Prepare to enjoy a nice bike ride that will be a couple miles. This will be an hour or less. We will take breaks along the way for water and rest. Start off location: 2820 Newell St Los Angeles,CA 90039 There is plenty of street parking if you plan to drive and put your bike in your car. ****Supplies students will need to bring to participate in class: A bicycle, water bottle, snack and the fortitude to not be frightened by the wild and exciting creatures that only a few people know about.

Bring one of the following:
a trinket of some sorts
books or stuff on roman culture
fruit or vegtables
Or just bring something you think is cool. People just willing to sign up for this is more than enough of a gift.

About the teacher, Josh Kaplan

My name is Josh Kaplan. The LA River is one of my favorite places in the world. I always bring it up and it seems a lot of people don't know about it so I decided it would be fun to teach. I do improv comedy out here and am a filmmaker. I love to backpack and enjoy learning things from anyone. I don't have much to say but all my knowledge is just from looking stuff up and spending 5 to 6 days there.
