Water bath canning is the perfect beginner's canning method that you can use to can fruits, jams, pickles and more. In this class, you'll gain an understanding of the basic water bath canning principles and tools while enjoying a hands-on opportunity to learn how to make some deliciously simple strawberry jam!
Bring one of the following:
a good cookbook
family canning recipes
various canning jars with unused lids
volunteer hours for this class as a facilitator (must be an approved TS facilitator)
your expertise & help starting my own compost (must schedule with me after class)
About the teacher, Kathy Eisan
Kathy is a technologist that loves the old school methods of cooking. Her cooking methods revolve around going back to the basics of producing your own food. She is the proud mother of two daughters and surprisingly never liked to cook until she discovered canning! Kathy has been canning for over seven years now, creating new flavors in recipes from salsa to jams to pickles to pie filling. In her spare time, she loves to read and sew.
