This eastern Indian cooking class will teach you the usage of different traditional spices of curry dish of India, evolved over many many centuries. You will see a cooking demonstration of one of the following plant based spicy vegetarian dish: curried veggie rice, curried lentil soup, or curried Chana Masala (spicy garbanzo beans) depending on the availability of authentic ingredients.

Bring one of the following:
* something else you'd like to offer (my contact info is in the registration email)
*email classes@tradeschool.coop to volunteer at this class (this is your barter!)
a mix of the following produce: cauliflower, potatoes, cabbage, tomatoes, garlic, onions, peppers, pears
homemade simple chocolate chip cookies
tea or coffee drink mix
vegetable oil or olive oil

About the teacher, Rumman Ali

Rumman Ali is an artist, cook and a philosopher at heart. She had at least 4 of her artwoks exhibited at downtown Indy artist colony. She likes to indulge in anything aesthetically pleasing. She has been cooking her traditional Indian dishes at home or campus for her husband and friends for last 15 years, since she came to study at winona state university, MN. U.S. She was born in India and learned her cooking skills from her mother, aunts and domestic housemaids while growing up there.
