This Eastern India cooking class will teach you about different flavors and recipes of traditional Indian dish. You will see a demonstration of one of the following dish: lentil soup, curried potatoes, or curried garbanzo beans( East Indian name - chana masala ) I will demonstrate cooking of chana masala dish in this class. students will be able to taste chana masala dish, after my cooking is complete.

Bring one of the following:
*I have attended a training and arranged with Trade School to be the class volunteer
Cake or chocolate chip cookies
Cauliflowers, potatoes, or radishes
coffee drink mix or tea
Onions, peppers, garlics, or tomatoes
Pears, grapes, or strawberries
something else you'd like to offer (my contact info is in the registration email)

About the teacher, Rumman Ali

Rumman Ali is an artist, cook and a philosopher at heart. She had at least 4 of her artwoks exhibited at downtown Indy artist colony. She likes to indulge in anything aesthetically pleasing. She has been cooking her traditional Indian dishes at home or campus for her husband and friends for last 15 years, since she came to study at winona state university, MN. U.S. She was born in India and learned her cooking skills from her mother, aunts and domestic housemaids while growing up there.
