Portraiture: Part 2!

1:00p.m. to 3:00p.m.
Just Us! Coffeehouse
5896 Spring Garden Rd.
Halifax, NS CA

The first class was full up, so we decided to have another session! Join Trade School Halifax as we learn how to hone drawing skills by practicing portraits! Using pencils and paper, we'll practice line weight, mark-making, measuring distance and making multiple passes through sketches for two hours as we study the symmetry and variations in the human face. This class is for ALL skill levels, beginners are more than welcome! If you have a clipboard or 8''x10''-ish hard drawing surface, please feel free to bring it. All other materials are supplied.

Bring one of the following:
Coffee (ground or instant) or juice boxes (to be donated to winter emergency shelters)
Embroidery floss (any colour)
Painters tape
Vinyl records(working or scratched, doesn't matter!)
Wet canned cat food or small dog treats (to be donated to the Dartmouth SPCA)

About the teacher, Amber Solberg

With an eye for the odd, Amber Solberg works as an illustrator and art instructor. Hailing from Alberta, she headed east to the ocean and now lives and works in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Since receiving a Visual Arts Diploma from Red Deer College (2009) and an Interdisciplinary BFA from NSCAD University (2013), she's been finding that science, storytelling, watercolours, and humour are her jam (although not what she'd want on toast).
