Explore how to make words mean, from initial ideas to a piece of writing. To get started we'll discuss topics possible topics such as: a new start; breaking the mould; a voice from the past; what I don't know; the new neighbours; vacation nightmares; a day in my life. Examples of writing and photographs will aid inspiration. This class is everyone, whether you are already a writer, or haven't written much or anything at all. You can try a poem or a piece of prose, or a mix of both. Any form of writing goes! 

Bring one of the following:
A nice pen
A notebook
A second hand game for 7 - 8 year olds
A song you like and the reason you like it
An offer to teach a Trade School Class yourself

About the teacher, Michael Thomas

Michael is a poet, fiction writer, songwriter, actor and dramatist. He has published widely and runs writing workshops for a range of different participants, from primary school pupils to members of the general public. He also runs writing sessions for writers' groups in Birmingham, Worcestershire and around the UK. His most recent novel is Pilgrims at the White Horizon.
