Breadmaking for beginners

Learn a simple way to make either yeasted bread or sourdough bread. One of life’s skills that seems to have gone out of fashion. Baking your own bread is the healthiest way of eating bread. Mix and knead the dough, have a cup of coffee, knock it back, and take it home to bake.

Operation Paste-UP

We are going to make street art posters. we will design a character or symbol, blow it up bigger size, draw it onto poster paper, give it colour with watered down acrylic, cut it out and then go an paste it up somewhere.

A random item from that random draw in your house where you just randomly throw things in every now and again…. My mom calls it the useful draw.

Modern Art - what’s it all about?

Starting with Modern Art, which is often portrayed as ‘difficult to understand’, we will discuss the language of art and the differences between looking, seeing and perceiving. Don’t be put off by other people’s opinions or the weighty articles of academics! There is no right or wrong way of seeing. Join us to step towards a clearer understanding of what we are looking at and ‘seeing’ when we look at ‘works of art’.

About the teacher, Janet Armstrong

I was born in Dudley and live in Dudley. I am a lifelong keen amateur gardener. I learned growing from my Dad when I was young, and picked up gardening skills through trial and error. I am a graduate of Chelsea School of Art, and have worked with people of all ages to facilitate learning about Art, in schools, colleges /adult education and voluntary sector workshops (from Oh! in Bethnal Green to Edinburgh College of Art).
