Learn to tune in to your environment and look at the world from a patterned perspective. Come and learn how to use a simple set of tools and experimental marks to develop a repeatable tile design and create your own surface pattern. Creative play has been proven to have a whole heap of benefits. Come relax and experience the uplifting power of pattern!

About the teacher, Suzanne and Chris Carpenter

Cycling, doodling, walking, collecting, design partnership living in Penylan and working under the title Patternistas. Often found drinking tea and coffee from a vintage cup and beer from a wine glass.

Fashion Illustration Workshop

Bring along your passion for fashion and learn how to illustrate with tutor Beth Morris. You'll explore basic body proportions by drawing each-other in fun timed sessions. We'll take inspiration from the Masters like David Downton and Stina Persson via a digital presentation and there will be tons of amazing books to trawl through. Then we'll set to work on recreating magazine fashions in water-colours and ink. Beware though, Beth talks a lot and sometimes makes you draw along to Barry White's tunes! Please bring the following: Pencil, sketchbook, watercolour palette and/or inks, paintbrush, watercolour paper (not a necessity but handy if you have some)

How to Make a Textile Brooch

This class is on how to make a delightful, wearable piece of textile art. By the end of this workshop you will be able to take home a textile brooch with original silk screen-printed illustration by Anna. Screen-printed fabric will be provided, along with pins and filling materials, but if you have any natural/white coloured threads, small needles or scissors please do bring them along.

About the teacher, Anna Palamar

I’m Anna, a Cardiff-based printmaker and designer, producing original handmade wares. I graduated with a degree in Textiles from School of Art and Design in 2015 and since then started my own business. I aim to create designs that will bring joy to everyday life and will make my customers feel special by owning a unique, individually printed treasures.
