About the teacher, jesper buursink

How to Write Text for Art Grants

12:30p.m. to 2:30p.m.

About the teacher, Annette Dölle

Issue Mapping

12:30p.m. to 2:30p.m.

Stakeholders, students, issue professionals, workshop participants, practitioners, advocates, action researchers, activists, artists and social entrepreneurs are often asked to make sense of social issues that concern and affect the organizations and projects they are involved with. How to navigate complex scenarios is a question that concerns them. During the class I will introduce students to a selection of methods and tools (available online) that will help them repurpose digital devices (such as search engines) in order to gather specific data and visualize it. Ideally, this will give students some new ideas they can apply to their own projects!

About the teacher, Roy Lepoutre

It will mostly deal with terms like macro- /microenvironment, competitive advantage, maybe even basics of a business plan (yeah, lovely terms, I know :-)) It's mainly to help driven people to describe their idea(s) more precisely...to themselves as well as to family, friends, customers or even investors

As I met a lot of creative people in my life who had amazing business ideas but struggled to put them into action, I thought a class about basics in strategy could be helpful. What does it mean? It will mostly deal with terms like macro- /microenvironment, competitive advantage, maybe even basics of a business plan (yeah, lovely terms, I know :-)) It's mainly to help driven people to describe their idea(s) more precisely...to themselves as well as to family, friends, customers or even investors

The class will consist of the analysis of historical socio-cultural events which are commonly viewed as expressions of 'extremism' and will, through this dialogical analysis, lead to a re-definition of terms such as 'extremist', 'political' and 'radical'. Basis for this analysis will be Marshall Rosenberg's concept of Nonviolent Communication, which will be introduced during the class. After this basic introduction to the analysis of performative expressions of convictions, participants of the class will engage in the personal exploration of their own subjective convictions and will, collectively, develop ideas on personal performances situated within the 'Everyday'. Throughout the class there will be the possibility to engage in an open dialogue on issues emerging within the class.

Bring one of the following:

About the teacher, Jeannette Petrik

Jeannette Petrik considers design as an opportunity for public empowerment and skill sharing, as a tool for everyday political engagement. Behind the production and consumption of objects lies a fundamentally subjective use value, be it of a cultural, ideological, political or other personal nature. This, she explores through her practice as a researcher, designer and writer. She recently graduated from the Master course Contextual Design at the Design Academy Eindhoven.

If you want to reach the top, you'll definitely need some smart conflict negotiation skills. Each conflict is characterized by the same patterns. If you know these patterns, you can easily break through them and solve the conflict. I will explain how to recognize these patterns and how to break through them, using a multi disciplinary approach (social psychology, primatology, game theory and many other disciplines). During class, I will explain the negotiation theories and tactics, whilst referring to historical events, experiences from my international negotiation practice and epic youtube-films.

Erotic writing starts with what turns you on, and in this class, you will envision something in your life that you use everyday, that you can use as a tool to make your life more eroticized. Then you will write short erotic poems and learn how to read them aloud in ways that will entice your lover(s), partner, and others. Drummen op allerlei voorwerpen

8:15p.m. to 9:30p.m.

I am a drummer from Amsterdam and I mostly play free improvised music. I use a snaredrum or a drumkit. But I also play on blocks of wood and other things you would find in most houses or kitchens. I think I am more a drummer than a teacher, but I thought it would be nice to try. I might not come with a fixed idea for this class so I will also ask what you want to learn. So I guess it will be more a workshop than a real class. Because who likes school in that classic way anyway? So bring some things from home or from the trash that you would think could make a nice drum or percussion instrument. and maybe some things that will resemble sticks. I will also bring some drumsticks for people that don't have them. On the barter system: I think the barter system is a great step into the direction of turning away from capitalism. But the exchange of goods and services might also be seen as one of the first steps toward the rotten, money driven system we are forced to live in today. An american anarchist and primitivist philosopher John Zerzan has written some really interesting books about this subject. So, that's why my class is free. thanks ! Rogier.

In this short workshop we will work with the principles of eurithmy. The gestures in the eurythmist's movement repertoire relate to the sounds and rhythms of speech, to the tones and rhythms of music and to soul experiences, such as joy and sorrow. Based on the principles of eurithmy we will develop & practice ground patterns and we are going to translate language (the alfabeth) into body postures and gestures.

Bring one of the following:
Cadobon voor bovenstaande
Healthy Fast Food
Onkruid boeken
Oude groenteboeken, liefst biologisch
Zaden voor eetbare planten met naam erop

About the teacher, Toos Tuin

Hoi Ik ben Toos Tuin.

Bring one of the following:
Buitenlandse maar europese honing - soortspecifiek
Foto's maken van m'n imkeractiviteiten

The Museum of Modern Art in New York opens a major retrospective next month devoted to the Brazilian artist Lygia Clark. This class will pay tribute to the artist by giving a theoretical and visual overview of her work from the abstract beginnings, to Neo-Concretism to the abandonment of art all together. I wrote my master thesis on the critical reception of the work of Lygia Clark and Helio Oiticica. And last but not least, I am in love with Brazil.

The World is the Mirror of the Self. In daily experience we may recognise the reflection of our personal attitude and actions. Accepting responsibility for the creation of our individual reality allows for conscious interaction with world-views, people and situations: We may model our experience according to our excitement. The application of individually verifiable universal laws and simple action guidelines allows immediate results for a life in gratitude and freedom. The psychological mechanisms and spiritual concepts in relation to conscious experience-modelling are illustrated through scientific observation, religious lore, philosophical insight and personal experience. Beliefs, emotions and thoughts may not only change the shape of a water crystal, but indeed the whole experience of existence itself. Understanding the core mechanisms of reality creation enables the realization that the world is our projection and thus our playground. Immortality and unity are nothing to be attained, as everything is within the eternal here and now. The ideas of good and evil as well as societal progress are mere constructs our society which may be transcended. This workshop serves to state the obvious: It is a free-will choice to live in a spontaneous, excited, loving and grateful state of being right now. Act like you know.

About the teacher, Raffael Kemenczy

After research into sociology, systems theory, psychology, religion and spirituality, I have come to an understanding about the nature and structure of existence itself.
