About the teacher, juliana tan

juliana tan is a singapore-based editorial and commercial photographer. she crafts mise-en-scène in her photographs to reinvent spaces and her subjects. she uses lights and colours purposefully, resulting in a cinematic splash of colours that evoke a carefully-chosen emotion to perfection. her ability to illuminate her subjects has landed her images on publications such as the new york times, international herald tribune, neon (germany), and she has also photographed for western union, rolls-royce, united overseas bank and many others. while not on assignment, juliana enjoys exploring new cities to learn about history and culture.
